1. Jurisdiction & Governing Law

This establishment operates under the laws of India and is subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Any disputes, claims, or legal proceedings arising from your stay at Relax Mansion shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The hotel operates in compliance with:

  • The Hotel Receipts Act, 1918
  • The Andhra Pradesh Hotels (Licensing and Control) Act
  • The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Act
  • The Consumer Protection Act, 2019
  • The Information Technology Act, 2000 (for digital transactions and data handling)
  • The Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002
  • The Foreigners Act, 1946 (for international guests)
  • The Andhra Pradesh Excise Act (applicable regulations)
  • Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999
2. Guest Identification & Verification
2.1 Mandatory ID Requirement

As per the Government of India directives and Andhra Pradesh State Police regulations, all guests are required to submit valid government-issued photo identification at the time of check-in. This is mandatory and non-negotiable.

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport (mandatory for foreign nationals)
  • Voter ID Card
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • Central/State Government-issued ID Card
  • Defense ID Card
2.2 Foreign Nationals

Foreign guests must mandatorily submit their Passport and Valid Visa. The hotel is legally required to submit a C-Form (online registration of foreign guests) to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) / Foreigners Registration Office (FRO), Visakhapatnam, within 24 hours of the guest’s check-in, as mandated under the Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1992.

2.3 Unmarried Couples

As per prevailing hotel policy and in accordance with applicable laws, the hotel reserves the right to request additional verification. However, no guest shall be denied accommodation based solely on marital status, in adherence to constitutional rights under Article 21 of the Constitution of India (Right to Privacy — Justice K.S. Puttaswamy vs. Union of India, 2017).

2.4 Age Restriction

Guests below 18 years of age are not permitted to check in independently without a parent or legal guardian present. The hotel strictly complies with The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

3. House Rules & Conduct Policy
3.1 Noise & Disturbance Policy

The hotel maintains a Quiet Hours policy to ensure all guests enjoy a peaceful and restful experience.

Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (strictly enforced)

  • Loud music, parties, shouting, or any noise audible beyond your room is strictly prohibited
  • Playing music on loudspeakers or external Bluetooth speakers in rooms or corridors is not permitted after quiet hours
  • Any guest found disturbing other guests will be issued one verbal warning, followed by immediate eviction without refund upon repetition
  • Disputes between guests that disturb the peace of the establishment will result in police assistance being called, if necessary
3.2 Visitors Policy
  • Only registered guests are permitted to occupy rooms overnight
  • Non-registered visitors may be allowed in the common areas only between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM with prior intimation to the front desk
  • Overnight accommodation of unregistered visitors is strictly prohibited and shall be treated as violation of hotel policy as well as applicable provisions under Section 41 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)
  • The hotel reserves the right to verify identity of any visitor on its premises
3.3 Alcohol Policy
  • Consumption of alcohol is permitted only inside guest rooms and designated areas
  • Public intoxication in corridors, lobbies, staircases, or common areas is strictly prohibited
  • Bringing alcohol from outside is subject to applicable Andhra Pradesh Excise regulations
  • Any guest found in a state of public intoxication causing disturbance will be asked to vacate the premises and police may be notified under the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition Act and relevant IPC provisions
  • Serving or providing alcohol to minors (below 21 years) is a punishable offence under AP State law
3.4 Illegal Substances
  • Possession, consumption, or trafficking of narcotic substances or psychotropic drugs is absolutely prohibited on hotel premises
  • The hotel will immediately report any such activity to Visakhapatnam Police and cooperate with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)
3.5 Smoking Policy
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms, corridors, lobbies, lifts, and common indoor areas as per the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003
  • Designated smoking areas, if available, will be clearly marked
  • E-cigarettes and vaping devices are also prohibited indoors under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019
3.6 Weapons & Dangerous Articles
  • Bringing firearms, ammunition, explosives, or any dangerous weapons onto hotel premises is strictly prohibited
  • Violations will be immediately reported to Visakhapatnam Police under the Arms Act, 1959 and Explosive Substances Act, 1908
  • The hotel has the right to call police and detain the individual on the premises until law enforcement arrives
4. Property & Damage Policy
4.1 Guest Responsibility
  • Guests are fully responsible for any damage, theft, or destruction of hotel property during their stay
  • Damage to furniture, fixtures, fittings, bed linen, towels, electronics, or any hotel property will be charged to the guest at actual replacement/repair cost plus a 20% administrative fee
  • The hotel reserves the right to retain the security deposit
4.2 Lost & Found
  • Items left behind by guests will be kept safely for a period of 30 days
  • After 30 days, unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of
  • The hotel is not liable for any valuables left unattended in rooms; use of the in-room safe or front desk locker is strongly advised
  • Liability for loss of valuables is governed by The Hotel Receipts Act, 1918, which limits hotel liability to a prescribed amount unless the guest declared the value of the item at check-in
4.3 Theft by Guests
  • Theft of hotel property (towels, linen, remote controls, fixtures, etc.) is a criminal offence under Section 378 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) — now Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023
  • The hotel will file an FIR with Maharani Peta Police Station, Visakhapatnam, in all such cases
5. Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy
5.1 Payment Terms
  • Full payment or a valid authorization is required at check-in
  • The hotel accepts cash (Indian Rupees only), UPI, NEFT/RTGS, and major debit/credit cards
  • GST (Goods and Services Tax) will be levied as per applicable Government of India rates on all accommodation charges
  • Invoices/receipts will be issued as per GST Invoice requirements under the CGST Act, 2017
5.2 Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellations made 72 hours or more before the check-in date: Full refund
  • Cancellations made 24–72 hours before check-in: 50% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before check-in or no-shows: No refund

The hotel shall not be liable for interruption of services caused by events beyond reasonable control including but not limited to power outages, natural disasters, government restrictions, or utility failures.

5.3 Early Departure

Early departure without prior notice of at least 12 hours will be charged for the full booked duration.

5.4 Disputes — Consumer Protection

Guest grievances may be filed with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Visakhapatnam under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Online complaints may be filed at www.consumerhelpline.gov.in (National Consumer Helpline: 1800-11-4000).

6. Privacy Policy & Data Protection
  • The hotel collects guest personal data (name, ID, contact information) solely for legal compliance, safety, and service delivery
  • Data is stored securely and is not shared with third parties except as required by law (e.g., police, FRRO, government authorities)
  • Guest data is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023 and applicable IT rules
  • CCTV surveillance is operational in all public and common areas (not in rooms or bathrooms) for security purposes, in compliance with privacy laws
7. Safety & Emergency
  • The hotel complies with National Building Code of India fire safety requirements
  • Fire exits, emergency equipment, and evacuation routes are clearly marked
  • In case of medical emergency, the hotel will contact 108 (Andhra Pradesh Emergency Ambulance) and the nearest hospital
  • Nearest hospital: King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam and KIMS Icon Hospital

  • Emergency: Police – 100 | Fire – 101 | Ambulance – 108 | Women’s Helpline – 1091
8. Pet Policy
  • Relax Mansion is a pet-friendly hotel; however, pets must be kept on a leash or in a carrier in all common areas
  • Pets are not permitted in food service areas or other guests’ spaces
  • Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the guest
  • Guests must ensure their pets do not disturb other guests — repeated noise or disturbance from pets will result in the guest being asked to make alternative arrangements
9. Food & Outside Food Policy

Outside food is permitted inside rooms but is not allowed in common areas without prior consent of management.

10. Amendments

Relax Mansion reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these terms and policies at any time. Guests will be informed of material changes at check-in. Continued stay after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

By checking into Relax Mansion, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by all the terms, conditions, house rules, and policies stated above. The management reserves the right to refuse service or evict any guest found to be in violation of these policies without a refund.
